Why now?
In this role, you will be a trusted voice within the organization, creating resources and helping drive our go-to-market strategy. You will be responsible for executing go to market deliverables to communicate the features and benefits of new feature launches to customers and prospects. As Code Climate grows to the next stage, you’ll be imperative to translating product strategy into real revenue.
Examples of Problems You’ll Be Solving:
- How we translate the strategy and value proposition of our products into sales deliverables, messages and content. Internally, you gather customer feedback and be an internal advocate to represent their challenges to our product and eng teams.
- Keep our team on their toes and own the product launch calendar. You’re able to update the right internal teams in the right way!
- Positioning & Messaging: Assist with insight to inform the product positioning and messaging, guiding how Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success communicate with our customers throughout their entire journey in a clear and concise way.
- Go to Market: Planning and executing product launches across cross-functional teams (spanning Product, Marketing, Support, Service, Sales) and all sales deliverables.
- Customer Marketing: Develop a range of customer testimonials for external/internal use, including case studies (ideally you’ve developed a process for this before).
- Sales Enablement: Assist on internal trainings around our product offerings and launches; and also be willing to jump on client/prospect calls to answer questions.

- You like talking to people! Internally, you can be in between our product/eng teams and our sales teams. You’d be just as comfortable hopping on a client call as you would a sales training.
- You’re curious! Whether you’re finding out exactly how a feature works or understanding why a customer needs new functionality, you love getting to the bottom of things!
- You love to write and can understand the needs for different types of materials and messaging for our customers and internal teams i.e. you get there’s a difference between how we talk to an executive vs. an engineering manager and how our account managers talk to customers vs. our prospecting teams.
- You’re willing to roll up your sleeves and learn what it takes to eventually be a product marketing manager.
Desired Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in B2B marketing (preferably with experience speaking to a developer audience). You’ve worked with a sales team and a product team before.
- You’re excited to grow into a product marketing manager!
- Strongly Preferred: knowledge of the enterprise or SaaS landscape.
- You understand how developers and the people that manage them think, and can craft messages/materials that resonate with highly quantitative client.
- You know how to evangelize our products to clients while gathering feedback on the effectiveness of our key messages/content.
