Checks that block braces have or don't have a space before the opening brace depending on configuration.

Example:

# bad
foo.map{ |a|
  a.bar.to_s
}

# good
foo.map { |a|
  a.bar.to_s
}

This cop looks for inject / reduce calls where the passed in object is returned at the end and so could be replaced by eachwithobject without the need to return the object at the end.

However, we can't replace with eachwithobject if the accumulator parameter is assigned to within the block.

Example:

# bad
[1, 2].inject({}) { |a, e| a[e] = e; a }

# good
[1, 2].each_with_object({}) { |e, a| a[e] = e }

This cop checks for uses of the keyword not instead of !.

Example:

# bad - parentheses are required because of op precedence
x = (not something)

# good
x = !something

Checks that block braces have or don't have surrounding space inside them on configuration. For blocks taking parameters, it checks that the left brace has or doesn't have trailing space depending on configuration.

Example: EnforcedStyle: space (default)

# The `space` style enforces that block braces have
# surrounding space.

# bad
some_array.each {puts e}

# good
some_array.each { puts e }

Example: EnforcedStyle: no_space

# The `no_space` style enforces that block braces don't
# have surrounding space.

# bad
some_array.each { puts e }

# good
some_array.each {puts e}

Example: EnforcedStyleForEmptyBraces: no_space (default)

# The `no_space` EnforcedStyleForEmptyBraces style enforces that
# block braces don't have a space in between when empty.

# bad
some_array.each {   }

Example: EnforcedStyleForEmptyBraces: space

Checks for comma (,) not followed by some kind of space.

Example:

[1,2]
{ foo:bar,}

# good
[1, 2]
{ foo:bar, }

Checks for comma (,) not followed by some kind of space.

Example:

{ foo:bar,}

[1, 2]
{ foo:bar, }

This cop checks for redundant return expressions.

Example:

def test
  return something
end

def test
  one
  two
  three
  return something
end

It should be extended to handle methods whose body is if/else or a case expression with a default branch.

This cop checks whether comments have a leading space after the # denoting the start of the comment. The leading space is not required for some RDoc special syntax, like #++, #--, #:nodoc, =begin- and =end comments, "shebang" directives, or rackup options.

Example:

Checks for uses of if with a negated condition. Only ifs without else are considered. There are three different styles:

- both
- prefix
- postfix

Example: EnforcedStyle: both (default)

# enforces `unless` for `prefix` and `postfix` conditionals

# bad

if !foo
  bar
end

# good

unless foo
  bar
end

# bad

bar if !foo

# good

bar unless foo

Example: EnforcedStyle: prefix

# enforces `unless` for just `prefix` conditionals

This cop checks for multiple expressions placed on the same line. It also checks for lines terminated with a semicolon.

Example:
