Assignment Branch Condition size for new is too high. [19.87/15]
Open

  def new
    person = Person.find(params[:person_id]) if params.include? "person_id"
    @event = Event.find(params[:event_id]) if params.include? "event_id"
    @event = Event.new if @event.blank?

This cop checks that the ABC size of methods is not higher than the configured maximum. The ABC size is based on assignments, branches (method calls), and conditions. See http://c2.com/cgi/wiki?AbcMetric

Missing magic comment # frozen_string_literal: true.
Open

class AvailabilitiesController < ApplicationController

This cop is designed to help upgrade to Ruby 3.0. It will add the comment # frozen_string_literal: true to the top of files to enable frozen string literals. Frozen string literals may be default in Ruby 3.0. The comment will be added below a shebang and encoding comment. The frozen string literal comment is only valid in Ruby 2.3+.

Example: EnforcedStyle: when_needed (default)

# The `when_needed` style will add the frozen string literal comment
# to files only when the `TargetRubyVersion` is set to 2.3+.
# bad
module Foo
  # ...
end

# good
# frozen_string_literal: true

module Foo
  # ...
end

Example: EnforcedStyle: always

# The `always` style will always add the frozen string literal comment
# to a file, regardless of the Ruby version or if `freeze` or `<<` are
# called on a string literal.
# bad
module Bar
  # ...
end

# good
# frozen_string_literal: true

module Bar
  # ...
end

Example: EnforcedStyle: never

# The `never` will enforce that the frozen string literal comment does
# not exist in a file.
# bad
# frozen_string_literal: true

module Baz
  # ...
end

# good
module Baz
  # ...
end

Keep a blank line before and after private.
Open

  private

Access modifiers should be surrounded by blank lines.

Example:

# bad
class Foo
  def bar; end
  private
  def baz; end
end

# good
class Foo
  def bar; end

  private

  def baz; end
end

    def set_people
      @people_collection = Person.active

      # Ensure person is included in @people_collection
      @people_collection |= [@availability.person] if @availability.person

This cops checks for inconsistent indentation.

Example:

class A
  def test
    puts 'hello'
     puts 'world'
  end
end

Prefer single-quoted strings when you don't need string interpolation or special symbols.
Open

    person = Person.find(params[:person_id]) if params.include? "person_id"

Checks if uses of quotes match the configured preference.

Example: EnforcedStyle: single_quotes (default)

# bad
"No special symbols"
"No string interpolation"
"Just text"

# good
'No special symbols'
'No string interpolation'
'Just text'
"Wait! What's #{this}!"

Example: EnforcedStyle: double_quotes

# bad
'Just some text'
'No special chars or interpolation'

# good
"Just some text"
"No special chars or interpolation"
"Every string in #{project} uses double_quotes"

Open

    def availability_params
      params.require(:availability).permit(:person_id, :start_time, :end_time, :status, :description)
    end

This cops checks for inconsistent indentation.

Example:

class A
  def test
    puts 'hello'
     puts 'world'
  end
end

Inconsistent indentation detected.
Open

    def set_availability
      @availability = Availability.find(params[:id])
    end

This cops checks for inconsistent indentation.

Example:

class A
  def test
    puts 'hello'
     puts 'world'
  end
end

Line is too long. [81/80]
Open

      redirect_to @availability, notice: 'Availability was successfully updated.'

Missing top-level class documentation comment.
Open

class AvailabilitiesController < ApplicationController

This cop checks for missing top-level documentation of classes and modules. Classes with no body are exempt from the check and so are namespace modules - modules that have nothing in their bodies except classes, other modules, or constant definitions.

The documentation requirement is annulled if the class or module has a "#:nodoc:" comment next to it. Likewise, "#:nodoc: all" does the same for all its children.

Example:

# bad
class Person
  # ...
end

# good
# Description/Explanation of Person class
class Person
  # ...
end

Use %i or %I for an array of symbols.
Open

  before_action :set_availability, only: [:show, :edit, :update, :destroy]

This cop can check for array literals made up of symbols that are not using the %i() syntax.

Alternatively, it checks for symbol arrays using the %i() syntax on projects which do not want to use that syntax.

Configuration option: MinSize If set, arrays with fewer elements than this value will not trigger the cop. For example, a MinSize of3` will not enforce a style on an array of 2 or fewer elements.

Example: EnforcedStyle: percent (default)

# good
%i[foo bar baz]

# bad
[:foo, :bar, :baz]

Example: EnforcedStyle: brackets

# good
[:foo, :bar, :baz]

# bad
%i[foo bar baz]
