Having a callback to perform native display events actually will be much
easier to implement and I can do call serially kinds of things as well.

And yay! My refactor works at least with the Swing code! So that is nice.

Any exceptions which occur in the event handlers, destroys the spring thread
and then nothing ever runs again.
