The objective is to expose the students to the basic concepts underlying various computer vision techniques and the application of current techniques for problem solving. Topics covered include morphological operations, convolution and cross correlation, edge and corner detection, colour, texture, motion, image registration and mosaicking, 3D vision, camera calibration and 3D reconstruction, eigenface and pattern recognition. Laboratory exercises and projects are included for the students to solve practical problems using computer vision and image processing software packages.",
