##### Chapter 6: Of the Fall of Man, of Sin, and of the Punishment Thereof
Every sin, both original and actual, being a transgression of the righteous law of God, and contrary thereunto,[^fnref:wcf1] doth, in its own nature, bring guilt upon the sinner,[^fnref:wcf2] whereby he is bound over to the wrath of God,[^fnref:wcf3] and curse of the law,[^fnref:wcf4] and so made subject to death,[^fnref:wcf5] with all miseries spiritual,[^fnref:wcf6] temporal,[^fnref:wcf7] and eternal.[^fnref:wcf8]
