##### Chapter 8: Of Christ the Mediator
It pleased God, in his eternal purpose, to choose and ordain the Lord Jesus, his only begotten Son, to be the Mediator between God and man,[^fnref:wcf1] the Prophet,[^fnref:wcf2] Priest,[^fnref:wcf3] and King,[^fnref:wcf4] the Head and Savior of his church,[^fnref:wcf5] the Heir of all things,[^fnref:wcf6] and Judge of the world:[^fnref:wcf7] unto whom he did from all eternity give a people, to be his seed,[^fnref:wcf8] and to be by him in time redeemed, called, justified, sanctified, and glorified.[^fnref:wcf9]
