<span class="q">Q 39.</span> What is the duty which God requireth of man?
<span class="q">A.</span> The duty which God requireth of man, is obedience to his revealed will.[^fnref:wsc1]
[^fnref:wsc1]: <div class="esv"><h5>Deuteronomy 29:29</h5> <div class="esv-text"><p id="p05029029.01-1">“The secret things belong to the <span class="small-caps">Lord</span> our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.</p> </div><h5>Micah 6:8</h5> <div class="esv-text"><div class="block-indent"> <p class="line-group" id="p33006008.01-2">He has told you, O man, what is good;<br /> <span class="indent"></span>and what does the <span class="small-caps">Lord</span> require of you<br /> but to do justice, and to love kindness,<br /> <span class="indent"></span>and to walk humbly with your God?</p> </div> </div><h5>1 John 5:2-3</h5> <div class="esv-text"><p id="p62005002.01-3">By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.
