#### Larger Catechism
<span class="q">Q 160.</span> What is required of those that hear the Word preached?
<span class="q">A.</span> It is required of those that hear the Word preached, that they attend upon it with diligence,[^fnref:wlc1] preparation,[^fnref:wlc2] and prayer;[^fnref:wlc3] examine what they hear by the Scriptures;[^fnref:wlc4] receive the truth with faith,[^fnref:wlc5] love,[^fnref:wlc6] meekness,[^fnref:wlc7] and readiness of mind,[^fnref:wlc8] as the Word of God;[^fnref:wlc9] meditate,[^fnref:wlc10] and confer of it;[^fnref:wlc11] hide it in their hearts,[^fnref:wlc12] and bring forth the fruit of it in their lives.[^fnref:wlc13]
