# Testing Emails in Development
Sending real emails using sendmail or SMTP while in development mode is
**highly** inadvisable.
Luckily, the brilliant [Mailcatcher](http://mailcatcher.me/) exists to help
out. When working on Slices projects that send emails we suggest setting it up
from the first commit.
